I re took the measurements today an the 18” was to the bottom of the body, my mistake. It is 15” from the bottom of the frame to the ground

Thanks for the info

I am wondering if the risers FR sells are the same as the ones on the Hood River Edition

TCJ

Thanks

remeasured today, 18 1/2” to the body, 15” to the bottom of the frame. My mistake on the preceding measurement.

I am trying to figure out if the lift kit that FR sells is the same one used on the Hood River Edition.

Thank again for the input

Clearance from the ground to the bottom of our frame is 16". It is a west coast HRE built in 2016 (with a 2017 VIN).

Both, depending on model year. Early versions had a riser. Later versions they just clocked the torsion axle.

What is your clearance from ground to frame? We have the East Coast edition, 2018 with 15” tires an the torsion bar appears to be “clocked”. I believe our frame clearance is 18”, but I will recheck tomorrow.

After owning our 177 for 8 years (as of 10/2018) we decided it was time to add the riser kit as it was getting bothersome to unbend the rear stabilizers on a somewhat regular basis.  Purchased the kit from FR, cost was $ 150 including shipping.  Instructions were straightforward and all I used was 2 good floor jacks and simple hand tools.  Total time was just under 1 hour to do the job.

That being said we have noticed no difference in towing or gas mileage when using either our '13 Explorer or '11 F-150, both vehicles averaged 12 mpg which includes city, highway and a lot of mountain driving in the Rockies.  Have not had any issues with either sway or wind drag; we use a simple Curt anti-sway bar, works well for us.

Boater

Since the installation of the riser kit, have you notice any differences in towing, gas mileage, or wind drag?

We are looking to also increase our clearance, just doing the research after watching a couple of videos.

Do the Hood Rivers use a riser or are they built in?
