Welcome Alaska-Lady.  Do you have a specific question about dual batteries? 
 
In general it is best to go with two 6 volt deep cycle batteries (golf cart batteries) wired in series, than with two 12 volt batteries wired in parallel.  Without getting technical, they will charge and discharge more evenly over time.  If you do go with two 12 volt batteries there is a specific way you need to wire them up - specifically by taking off the + from one battery and the - from the other, again to help ensure they charge and discharge evenly.
