squirrels chewed through our propane line

Works for me.  One of the best fishing spots I've found is right off my dock.  Drop by and wet a line sometime (after it gets warm).

Well... you don't use 4's and shoot 'em point blank. I have dropped them from a tree when they were hit with a single 8 shot.

I mostly use a .22 myself, but have taken plenty with a good pellet gun since they made that a legal way to hunt them here a couple years ago.

And I hate to say it, they taste like squirrel. Not quite a "dark meat" but not white either. I generally stew them, but like them fried or braised and then added to gravy over biscuits or mashed potatoes. We very rarely buy meat in this house. (Just pork, actually)

I've butchered everything from from a snake to a cow and the only thing that has ever gagged me (smell wise) is squirrel.       

They mostly use 410's but either way the catfish don't mind.
