Could not believe it till we smelled the propane and noticed the teeth marks. Happened a couple days before we started on this cross country trip. I was able to locate a replacement line before we left Virginia. We're now in Texas and headed for Tucson.

While it was kinda nasty, I'm glad we found and fixed before we hit the road.

when we had the other camper seasonal at a camp ground we used to have the same problem.  ended up putting in all copper tubing.  Others used to wrap them in foil to keep them fro chewing.

Been there, done that.  Note that even the "aluminum foil" trick is not fool-proof.  The squirells here even ate throught that.  Find a hunk of heater hose that will slide over the propane line.  Then wrap that with chicken-wire.  That's the only combo that has worked for me.

I hate squirrels.  They've cost me thousands in damage to the house.

To me squirrels are nothing more than rats with a bushy tail.

Shoot em and eat em. I love fired squirrel with fresh sliced tomato. cut up in small pieces, roll in Kentucky colonel seasonend flour and chicken fry them babies. when outside is crispy and brown remove from skillet and place them in a corning ware dish with no lid, put that in an oval baking pan with 1 inch of water, put lid on baking pan and put in oven at 200 d/f steam em for about 1 hour and thats some good eating.

I agree with the "rats with bush tails" description.  I feel the same way.  Out of curiosity, what does a squirrel taste like?  Please don't say squirrel.  :)

I used to eat them.  To much trouble to clean.  Now I shoot them and feed them to the catfish (i.e., throw them in the lake).

Squirrels haven't found my propane line yet   ...but they did chew several holes in my Pod cover <argh>

Turns out they don't like moth crystals :-)
