The thing that I like about the sink is that when you are adjusting the water temp for the shower, the cold(or hot) water isn't running on your feet. We used the bathroom exclusively while on our 18day trip. The 3 of us grew very used to it. Turning on an angle inside there while showering helps with roominess too.

In the interest of keeping the subject of the bathroom sink I would like to post an idea.  How hard would it be to relocate the sink above the toilet. You would have to keep it high enough so not to hit your shoulder on it while seated but it would give you more room to get up from a seated position and more room to stand while taking a shower.  The sink could still be used to place shampoo/conditioner, wet wash cloth etc. You could also place a foot on the toilet seat lid to scrub your toes.  Does anyone see a down side to this idea??

The wall behind the toilet in a 178 is loaded with electrical wires and houses the converter which is the hub for all the electrical circuits.  I don't think it is a good idea to contemplate  adding water lines in that area.  Then there is the problem of installing a drain to the grey water tank.  The sink must be mounted in a corner due to its design, and this could make the sink difficult to use since it would be behind the toilet.

I chose to simply remove the sink, order a wall repair panel from FR, and eliminated the sink entirely.  If (when) we decide to sell our pod, the sink can easily be re-installed in its original position with no evidence it was ever removed.

If you want to scrub your toes, just sit on the toilet as most of us do.

Thanks for the response Sleepless. You are probably correct concerning introducing a potential leaking sink & drain above the power panel. What was I thinking? :)

Remove Sink, remove pipes, cap pipe, add wallboard, seal around wallboard.
