Or get one high quality generator plus an Easystart. Less overall weight to lug around too. My generator does its primary duty as backup power at the house, for which I wanted very high reliability. Recharging the trailer battery is secondary.

For those who have the do-re-mi [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46mO7jx3JEw], two high priced generators in parallel would be great. For we proles who can't afford it, we get buy with one good quality, but less costly brand. If it's a little too heavy to lift for one person, many of us have a spouse or companion willing to help and it works fine. Each person should do what works best for him or her.

+1. Even with two in parallel, positioning one 47-lb load at a time is doable by most people. |

Because of weight. 86 lbs vs 47 lbs for the Honda 2200. That big genny would almost certainly put me back in the hospital for more disc surgery. No thanks. My lumbar vertebrae prefer the Easystart solution.

Champion, which makes a 58 dB inverter generator, managed to meet CARB so there's no reason B&S couldn't if they wanted. And the Champion runs dual fuel and costs a lot less than some brand name competitors.

I don't think it's an issue of the cost of certification. There are at least 16 states (besides California) that have adopted CARB standards (more details here). That is an enormous market with a combined population of more than 1/3 of the entire United States. Briggs and Stratton are big boys, they should know how to do this.

Why not pollute less?

Not for me, I don't live in California. Most don't. That cert costs money and doesn't mean a non-certified generator pollutes more. Poor speculation.

That Briggs generator does not meet CARB standards. So it may be a great generator, but it's also a pretty good polluter too. Something to consider.

Greetings: Happy Holidays. I'm a Ham, so I've owned a Honda 2000 for over 12 years. It has been used a great deal, and still runs perfectly. I change oil every 20 hours of operation and use a synthetic oil. I replace the spark plug and have cleaned the air filter, that's been it. They cost more, but they are well made.
