Are y'all talking a 13.5 a/c?
I installed a Coleman Polar Cub 9,200 but a/c in my 13.5 truck camper and it was more than enough. I wonder if they would keep up ok on the smaller floorplan pods like mine? |

Perhaps I wired it wrong, but after trying to wire in a SUPCO hard start capacitor, it made the situation worse. The attempt to start the AC would immediately put the Generac iX2000 into an overload condition. It ran better without the SUPCO HS capacitor. OTOH, the MicroAir Easy Start does make a difference in being able to start and run the AC. There is not as much of a surge in the engine of the generator with the Easy Start.

I'm able do the same with my Honda 2000i. Starts and runs the AC after I installed this. SUPCO SPP6 Can be purchased on Amazon for less than $10.00 SUPCO SPP6 Relay/Capacitor Hard Start Kit with 500% Increase Starting Torque

This is an old thread but for the record, with an easystart installed on the a/c unit my Honda 2000 will run my a/c Ok, but there is no reserve capacity to run anything else. It starts the a/c without any problem. Not sure how it would do at elevations of 5000 ft or more. Also, the new version is 2200W which should provide a little reserve capacity for high elevations or to run some additional light loads.

I bought one of the $600 generators and although it still runs it is slowly falling apart. Pretty much all the switches have fallen off and the start cord snapped after only a couple of starts, they are also very heavy compared to the Hondas

We use two EU2000i generators in parallel, which run everything in our 179. One of the generators is the Companion model, which has 20A and 30A outlets.

I have dual batteries also. My generator is primarily for wife's hair dryer. That makes her happy. That keeps me happy. fred

Give a try and disconnect your battery(ies). Then plug into the Honda, start up (not Eco mode), and turn on the A/C. It might run the A/C.
