Perhaps I wired it wrong, but after trying to wire in a SUPCO hard start capacitor, it made the situation worse. The attempt to start the AC would immediately put the Generac iX2000 into an overload condition. It ran better without the SUPCO HS capacitor. OTOH, the MicroAir Easy Start does make a difference in being able to start and run the AC. There is not as much of a surge in the engine of the generator with the Easy Start.

Are y'all talking a 13.5 a/c?

I installed a Coleman Polar Cub 9,200 but a/c in my 13.5 truck camper and it was more than enough. I wonder if they would keep up ok on the smaller floorplan pods like mine?

Yes, 13.5kbtu which is standard on the rPod.   I've measured the duty cycle on my 179 at about 50-60% on a 90 degree day with about 75-80% humidity. So thats 7-8kbtu to maintain the interior at about 80F on a hot and steamy day.  So, I think a 9K btu would be Ok to maintain an pRod but it would take quite a long time to pull  it down. Most folks show up at their pedestal sites on a hot day and want their trailers cold, like now. I'm sure that's why FR puts an "oversized" a/c on them.

Yes, I have a 17 1/2 179 and it does have a 13.5 btu. When I purchased the Pod I already owned the 2000i and it in fact would not start the A/C. Did some internet research and heard some people had luck with the SUPCO 6. I live in N Idaho at 2300 feet and it does now start and run the A/C without drama at 85+ degrees.  I did use it in Utah last year at 90 degrees and 5,000 feet and still worked but many of the reviews state that I should expect trouble at higher elevations.
Something we all should keep in mind when reading peoples solutions to Pod problems. Over the years Forest River has made significant changes to these units. Therefore a solution on a '17 1/2 179 might not be a solution on a '15. Case in point, I recall reading that the 13.5 Penguin II on the newer Pod's uses less energy that the 13.5 units found on some of the older Pods models. People may read that "this guy X tried solution Y and we both have 179's but the fix isn't working for me, why?" The answer is the models are the same but the appliance, shower surround, plumbing, inverter etc...may be different.  :)

Stephen, When I purchased the SUPCO and did some install research I noticed one of the most watched YouTube Videos on how to install was in fact wrong. I followed the video and the unit wouldn't start. I called SUPCO and their tech in about 30 seconds had me straighten out. Their instructions are very generic and it's easy to connect the Hard Start to the wrong capacitor.

Actually never tried it in eco mode. I knew it was going to be a bit of an "event" so I started it up, let it warm and then turned on the A/C. I did disable the charger.

Ok thanks SteveA. If you get a chance at some point when things get warmer it would be interesting to know if you can start up in eco mode.

The Easy Start apparently has several protection modes, I'm running my Honda 2000 mostly on propane and the system is a little fussy to adjust for altitude, it also reduces its capacity somewhat. It I don't have it adjusted correctly it can bog down when the a/c is running. The Easy Start will shut the compressor off for a few minutes and try again.

The a/c unit in my 2015 rPod requires 15.3A run current on a hot day. There is no noticeable rpm drop due to start load using the Easy Start and it starts from eco mode fine.

I'm in Lake Havasu until the first of April however if you're still interested at that time I absolutely will. :)

Keep us posted.

I'm curious to understand when and why the hard start cap works.  I've already bought and installed the Easy Start so it won't help me but I'm sure it would be interesting for our newer boondocking members to know if they are candidates for a $10 fix rather than a $300 one.
