This way you can meet people from all different backgrounds and interests. After all people buy rvs because they enjoy camping and the great outdoors instead of being jealous of others if they don't own the same model or shape of your rv. Keep up the great work you are doing Camper Bob :) |
Weird that a website about R-Pod Owners would actually try to bring members of it's community together for rallies and events. A place where some have been talking about their campers and modifications and showing them to other owners at events since 2009. It's crazy that owners of R-Pods come from such narrow and limited walks of life and that we all have the same interests and backgrounds.
Airstream, HuP, PuP, Tin Can Tourists, Sisters on the Fly, I wonder if all of those RV communities know that their efforts are in vain? And that the reason they come together as groups and share their combined knowledge and stories over the years camping together is actually rooted in a deep psychological jealousy?

papabear we are having our Second Annual Pod Party April 24-26 at Deception Pass State Park in Washington. As of now we have 51 pods and a couple of tents and a non-pod friend of a podder. We are very excited about the response, since there were 11 pods last year. There are people from as far away as Colorado, Las Vegas, several from Canada, Montana, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California. We all love camping and we are excited about the get together. It is always fun to see what type of mods people have made to their units. That's one of the advantages to meeting others with the same Rv. We have truly loved making new friends and treasure the common connections. As one of the hosts for the get together I look forward to the invasion of the pod people at the pass.

When planning the Spring Fling last year, and this year, I specifically did not call it a FROG event because I didn't want to limit myself to ONLY FR products. I wanted all my camping friends to be able to come, so I certainly don't consider myself an elitist! I have friends who own all sorts of campers. All the way from Class A's down to vintage. And they are ALL coming to the Spring Fling. Yes, I did call it an RPod Rally, but Rpods may edge out the other types by only a little bit. I am sure that my RPod friends will enjoy meeting new people and seeing their campers and not single out the "other" brands. I'm pretty sure that everyone will mingle famously!

There was one in Florida last month and there will be one in Texas later this year.
